Hedahls Press Release
May 19, 2005
HEDAHLS HAS IT! Hedahls Parts Plus Purchases Six More Stores
Hedahls Parts Plus has an agreement with Mann’s Automotive to purchase their six
stores in North Dakota, bringing Hedahls total number of locations in the upper
Midwest to 22. Mann’s Automotive stores are located in Minot, Williston, Crosby,
Mohall, and Garrison, North Dakota and will now part of the Hedahls network of
Parts Plus stores. The existing Hedahls store in Dickinson, ND will be merged
with the Mann’s Automotive store in Dickinson under the Hedahls Parts Plus name.
Based in Bismarck, Hedahls Parts Plus is a regional distributor of auto parts,
auto body paint and supplies, and automotive service equipment. Hedahls was
started almost 90 years ago by Ed Hedahl. Today the company is a
third-generation family business headed by President Dick Hedahl, who says the
addition of the new stores in North Dakota offers evidence that Hedahls is
committed to strong local ownership of important services in the upper Midwest
region served by Hedahls.
“We have been working toward this opportunity for a number of years,” said
Hedahl, “Mann’s Automotive and Hedahls have been partners in the Uni-Select USA
auto parts network that serves this area. This acquisition is a natural
progression of that partnership.”
This announcement follows the acquisition last fall of a store in Carrington,
ND. Hedahls, Inc. now employs over 180 people, operating auto parts stores in
Beulah, Bismarck, Carrington, Crosby, Dickinson, Garrison, Hettinger, Linton,
Mandan, Minot, Mohall and Williston, North Dakota; Glendive and Sidney, Montana;
Detroit Lakes and Fergus Falls, Minnesota; and Aberdeen, Milbank, Redfield,
Sisseton, Watertown, and Webster, South Dakota.
HEDAHLS HAS IT! – now in 22 locations.
